About Niall Smith
Niall Smith is the Founder and Chartered Accountant behind Niall Smith Accountancy, an independent practice based in Newry, Co. Down. Established in 2017, the firm has quickly become a trusted advisor to individuals, families, owner-managed businesses and larger companies across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Niall began his accountancy journey in 2003 after graduating from the University of Ulster, then trained in practice for five years before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2008. He went on to spend nine years as Financial Controller for one of Northern Ireland's largest haulage businesses, gaining deep experience in management accounts, KPIs and multi-company group finance. He later joined the family business, Smith Concrete, before founding Niall Smith Accountancy Services in 2017 to combine his technical expertise with a more personal, relationship-led approach.
Niall specialises in supporting small businesses that value proactive, strategic advice. He takes time to understand each client's ambitions, challenges and opportunities, then delivers practical recommendations that help them grow, plan tax efficiently and strengthen their financial foundations. He has a keen eye for automation and cloud accounting, using technology to improve management reporting and give business owners the real-time data they need to make better decisions.
