About James Mailley
James Mailley is Head of Sales & Marketing at iSME, the trusted voice of small and medium businesses in Ireland. He joined iSME in January 2026 to lead the Sales and Marketing teams, bringing more than 20 years' experience supporting SMEs across the island of Ireland. His background spans online recruitment, employer branding, HR technology and psychometric testing, and he has more recently helped Irish businesses with compliance across HR, Employment Law and Health & Safety.
James's early career was on the shop floor in London with a multiple retailer, where he developed a passion for excellent customer service and the 'Retail is Detail' mantra. That grounding in customer-facing business has shaped his approach ever since: practical, attentive and focused on the real pressures that owner-managers face every day.
At iSME, James is responsible for helping SMEs understand and make the most of the services available to them — especially upskilling, learning and development resources. He wants to ensure that whether the challenge is rising business costs, employee issues, digital and AI adoption, or the need for representation to Government, iSME remains the trusted voice for small and medium businesses in Ireland.
James is excited to be part of a team that stands up for SMEs, and he brings the same energy to The Growth Network.
